Self-praise is disgrace

i think i should come up with a series where i never get to see this kind of person in my life before.. i donno this one is episode what already lah.. hai.. slowly go and check through the archives then add in a title in.. hahahah..

i have never seen a person who self-praise himself handsome.. if he is asking as a question, i still can tell a white lie.. self-praise is downright disgraceful..

if this person who finds himself handsome, why work in a warehouse?? go and apply for a job as a model or actor..

imagine a big boss is not around, and you are in an air-conditioned room with 8-9 people working around you, while you sitting down watching a video.. what will people think of you??

plus, he think he is a junior executive.. need to be arrogant abit to show some wings.. oh come on, he need to work smart, not look to be working hard..

since he claims to be so handsome, i believe he got the ability to call someone on his own side to help him do his work.. not us..

New System sucks

LOW MORALE!!!

hai.. because of a new system to clock the time in and out, the privileages are gone.. no more coming in late.. no more flexibility..

now we have to make good use of the time that is given to us for OT.. we have to use it fully to the extent that not even a sec is wasted..

i dont want to say how we have to spend the time fully as i believe there are some people "monitoring" my blog..

hai.. tough times ahead..

She doesnt meant what she say

erm.. what girls say, they doesnt meant it.. right?? i donno whether i should state an example to it..

this girl.. her status was "Single" before she went overseas.. after coming back from holiday, she put "It's complicated.." i dont have to say where i see it in the internet..

secondly she casually mentioned to me in sms that she want to get married within 2 yrs and become a full time housewife.. but on the other hand, i dont see her other half or any pic to prove it.. just a ring on her right hand is the proof.. but i saw on several occasions that she doesnt put the ring on.. forgetful?? i doubt so..

is this girl playing a game of bluff with me?? or is another case of "she doesnt mean what she say"??

70s and 80s lifestyle

received this email.. and i should add what we are doing in this new century.. 45 things we did in the 70s and the 80s..

1. You grew up watching He-man, MASK, Transformers, Centurions, Silver Hawk and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget Ninja Turtles, My Little Pony and Smurfs,Visionaries,too..

(now watch reality shows and singing competitions which is more sucks than the cartoons)

2. You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in primary school during recess time. You will squat by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brush your teeth with a coloured mug.The teacher said you must brush each side 10 times too.

(i donno whether is there such a practice in primary school now)

3. You know what SBC stands for.

(what about TCS?? i know now is mediacorp)

4. You pay 40 cents for Chocolate or Strawberry MILK every week in class.

(haha, that what i used to do back then.. but after primary 4, no more supply coming in liao..)

5. You watch a very popular Malay dubbed Japanese drama on RTM1 about schoolgirls who possess powerful skills in volleyball called Meoro Attack and Oshin.

(huh.. i dont watch these kind of show back then..)

6. You find your friends with pagers and handphone cool in Secondary school.

(now primary school students take the latest hp liao.. still secondary school..)

7. SBS buses used to be non-airconditioned. The bus seats are made of wood and the cushion is red. The big red bell gives a loud BEEP when pressed.. There are colourful tickets for TIBS buses. The conductor will check for tickets by using a machine which punches a hole in the ticket.

(all air-con liao, people complain what to do and bus company rich ma, still increase fare.. now is ding dong.. not BEEP!!)

8. Envelopes given to us to donate to Sharity Elephant every Children's Day.

(i think this charity closes down liao as the donations is less than 2 dollars..)

9. You've probably read Young Generation magazine. You know who's Vinny the little vampire and Acai the constable.

(ya.. now we read FHM, Maxim, Newman..)

(no more supply liao.. )

15. You watched TV2 (also known as Channel 10) cartoons because Channel 5 never had enough cartoons for you.

(the trend still continues.. now show those repeated movies, american sitcoms, reality shows, and football matches..)

16. Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Three Investigators, Famous Five and Secret Seven are probably the thickest story books you ever thought you have read. Even Sweet Valley High and Malory Towers .

(now not books liao.. all go internet liao.. or play LAN games.. )

17. KFC used to be a high class restaurant that serve food in plates and let you use metal forks and knives.

(try that before, much more delicious back then.. chicken portions also bigger.. now so small, must buy 2 sets then eat full.. now all paper and use your hands.. KFC is a restuarant, not a fast food restuarant.. hai)

18. The most vulgar thing you said was asshole and idiot and THE MOST EXTREME WAS 'super white'... you just couldn't bring yourself to say the hokkien relative.

(now even parents also bring into the equation liao.. small kids also saying that now..)

19. Catching was the IN thing and twist as the magic word.

(mention the word 'DoTA' now, everyone crowds around you..)

20. Your English workbooks was made of some damn poor quality paper that was smooth and yellow.

(lifestyle still the same, but ball bigger and harder..)

25. Teng-teng, five stones, chapteh, hentam bola and zero point were all the rage with the girls and boys too...

(now is all sit down and stare at computer liao.. no more sweating outside playing those games..)

26. Science was fun with the balsam and the angsana being the most important plants of our lives, guppies and swordtail being the most important fish.

(im out of touch with Science subject.. so i got no comments)

27. Who can forget Ahmad, Bala, Sumei and John, eternalized in our minds from the textbooks. Even Mr Wally & Mr. Yakki. What abt Miss Lala??? And Zaki and Tini in Malay Textbooks?

(ya.. at least now better, with new names that are hard to pronounce..)

28. We carry out experiments of our own to get ourself badges for being a Young Zoologist/Botanist etc.

(im a lazy bugger back then.. now i dont think got this type of activity..)

29. Every Children's day and National day you either get pins or pens with 'Happy Children's Day 1993' or dumb files with 'Happy National Day 1994'.

34. School dismissal time was normally around 1 pm.

(i will find it surprise if school end at 1 now.. now school ends at 3 or 5..)

35. There would be spelling tests and mental sums to do almost everyday.

(now what kind of test also have.. CA followed by SA, followed by prelim, followed by final exams..)

36. Your friends considered you lucky and rich if your parents gave you $3 or more for pocket money everyday.

(now the sky is the limit.. the line is clear between rich student and poor students)

37. You see Wee Kim Wee's face in the school hall.

(now is S. R. Nathan's face)

38. You freak out when the teacher tells you to line up according to height and hold hands with the corresponding boy or girl.

Randomness (49)

oh.. i didnt know that my contract have already been completed.. haha.. im quite comfortable with my working colleagues..

the admin staff.. also another funny person.. ask her about her working life.. she go and tell me about her personal life.. until i also interested in it..

wait, before anyone can say it, i want to make something clear about this.. yes, the admin staff is someone i can click with, but that doesnt mean that i have feelings for her.. the age gap is too big for me.. 2-3 yrs still acceptable.. i respect her loyalty in this company for so long.. i dont think i can last so long in a company where i can find new challenges in other companies.. like pay rise, travelling around the world..

Illogical logic

HUH!! got this kind of logic one ah.. i donno how my friend able to come up with this theory that if girls dislike you is actually liking you..

if this theory really do exists, then the first girl who dislike me that comes to my mind will be the ex-friend.. the girl who i knew during my NS days..

pls tell me this theory isnt true.. even if it is true, how to derive to that point?? i dont get it.. can someone pls enlighten me?? does that mean no matter how long the time have been, i still have a place in her heart?? oops, if the ex-friend is reading this, i believe she is cursing and swearing at my friend's theory right now..

i have a conversation with my friend on MSN and somehow 'Relationship' was on the agenda..

Blog updated

blog updated.. a new tag board and chronicles of my life..

today watch two versions of 'Infernal Affairs'.. lol.. both english and chinese versions.. both storyline are practically the same except for the ending..

'Infernal Affairs need 3 shows to make a story but 'The Departed' need only one to make the story.. remember Leon Lai character in the last instalment of the Infernal Affairs.. In The Departed, the cop who abused his authority, curses and swear is character play by Leon Lai.. somehow the ending in The Departed got to do with this character..

Unreasonable Warehouse co-ordinator

first time show face, ok, nvm.. second time show face, i begin to doubt already..

what the use of asking people to pass msg when im the one who is doing it?? i wonder if my colleagues like to do that in the first place?? by doing so, it only create more confusion and misunderstanding.. though it's not happening at the moment, but i believe it will..

now i dont have the enthusiasm in working anymore..

Working world

hai.. look like what i learned in NS is not forgotten in the working world..

- never ever trust anyone.. this rule is only exception to some people..

- politics exist.. yes, but i dont play..

- never treat everyone as friends.. this rule have draw the line very clearly.. once work is over, that it..

breaking the ice in my working place is like the ice is made of diamond.. that is how difficult it is until recently.. the common topics are......guy topics!! lol!! 10 hours of endless talking.. from the moment i step in to work till i step out of work.. my mouth is damn tired lor.. somehow i just show them a games list that is coming out soon and the ice is broken.. i use the wrong weapon to break it.. =/

by the way, im going to change the status of the co-ordinator that i need to report to as the admin staff.. hehehe..

Different personalities

argh.. two contrasting worlds of working personalities.. different wavelength of frequency.. one end to another end and im stuck in the middle.. instructions given from both sides, im the one who is confused right from the start.. who to listen? the one that is in charge? or the one that is helping out at the moment?

i dont want to go into details about it.. there are some things that people doesnt want me to know.. fine with it.. but im definitely not naive to go and believe it.. the way people express themselves and the body language gives it away.. im just turning a blind eye or deaf ear to it..

Funny warehouse executive

there is some incidents which i intend to blog about it but was totally forgotten about it until recently.. all these happened during the 3 days where the co-ordinator went on cruise.. anyone recall that i have to report to another co-ordinator.. today post will be all on her.. wahahaha..

all i can say is she is good to bully, child-like behaviour and a priceless expression..

i dont think i need to say about good to bully as it is very obvious.. 6 of us bullying her during the 3 days in charge..

priceless expression: every day, for these 3 days, the quantity of the books is not tallied..and everyday i have to tell her.. by the end of the 3rd day, she gives an expression which is priceless!!

child-like behaviour: ok, she wants it fast and accurate.. no OT.. and i was surprised that the dept give us the books during the 3 days was like all come up at one shot.. i was alone and doing it myself while my colleagues was doing some cleaning.. and the next thing i knew, she and my supervisor come and help.. so i take a short break and stand there, watch them doing when something caught my eyes..

just imagine.. she was sitting down on a moveable chair, with books on her laps and use both hands to tap on the books (the action was like playing piano).. i was stunned and when she realise that i was watching her doing that action, i quickly turned my head away trying to control my laughter..

got 2 more points to add, i find that i have a great working chemistry with her.. she doesnt have to say anything and i know what she wants me to do..

basically i have to communicate with her if i have any problems at work, hence i have her contact no.. imagine when i get to know her nickname.. i disturb her through sms sia.. hahaha..

but i dont think i will last long in this job.. currently there are 5 of us.. 2 of them is waiting for NS.. if 1 leave, still manageable.. if both gone, i will follow them..

Bond building

i feel that my supervisor is either trying to be funny with us or want to make us angry..

he told us that if very busy, he will ask one of us to help.. but in the end, he call other sections to help.. Saturday is a perfect example.. we already agreed that we will do it all and finish it all as a team.. but instead he call one from other section to help.. and this section is starting to busy with those packing.. and they have not finish it.. what the heck? i wish to say some more about this particular girl from the packing section but on the other hand, i decided to keep it within our team..

since the incident, i find more comfortable working with my team than from other sections.. maybe the bond is starting to build up..

and lastly, the way some people treat me, i will treat back the same way back to these people..

Implemented working plans

did i mentioned that the working environment situation was solved DURING the co-ordinator's cruise??

our team have a discussion about it during meal time.. and i was surprised to see her asking me when she was back.. since she ask me, i just told her lor.. ok, maybe i was harsh in the conversation, i apologised for that.. the very next day, to my horror, show me faces.. that very minute, i dont give a damn anymore..

i shall give a better scenerio about my working environment..

in the morning, other departments will bring up small quantities of books.. i still can manage on my own, take my own sweet time to finish until lunch time.. if other sections were to come and help, i will have a lot of free time.. is like you want to savour an exotic food for all the time that you want, but the moment you turn around, the food is no longer there.. the help that i need is permanent.. not as and when others see it fit to do it..

after lunch time is a nightmare.. the dept will bring up large amount of books.. that where i need help already..

one thing my colleagues all agree on was the time management.. it really sucks.. anyway, the situation is more clear cut now.. if the quantities is really alot, then they will come and help after lunch time.. if is small amount, then they will do their own things.. through trials and tribulations, my colleagues and i have a better understanding on our individual duties..

but we cant wait for the day to come when the evil plan shall come into play..

Middlemen

look like my colleagues are in for a tough time.. they have to pass messages between me and the co-ordinator..

since this incident, the co-ordinator have the intention to ask my colleagues to do what im currently doing.. but the funny thing is, my supervisor's instructions overrule it.. so is practically back to me again..

my colleagues and i have an evil plan in mind.. hahaha.. will not disclose about it.. but waiting for the prefect time to carry out..

Thursday, September 21, 2006

Working arrangements

just by stating some facts on work, i pay a price for it..

- heard from my colleague that i was rude to other colleagues.. ok.. i accepted the comment before adding on that in the midst of working, they come in and ask me what to do.. but they know how to do..

- when i need help in work, the help is not there.. when i no need help, other sections will come and help.. before i voice out, i was working alone.. the work required at least 2 persons to do in order to meet the deadline..

by voicing out, the only consolation that i got from my supervisor is the help will be mobilised within our team if i cant do it alone.. and not from other sections.. im actually quite happy with the arrangements..

want to know what consequences i got by voicing out??

a standoff with a full time co-ordinator..
