Good company

it been a long time since i organize gathering with friends that have not meet up for a long time.. and i have the privilege to do so after my exams last week..

just nice as i had one week of rest before going back to work..

this group of friends, whom i know during ITE, was formed in the 2nd year to participate in a global game competition held in USA. After the competition, we still keep in contact, through msn and sms, but never had a chance to meet up as we went our separate ways after graduation..

boy, it was a good old time remembering the past times over the meal..

there was one incident where the waiter did as we instruct to the leftover food. It was hilarious!! one sentence to describe the whole incident: no one come to cafe cartel to ta bao bread.. wahahhahaha..

we will be meeting again to go back to ITE to see our teachers.. and this gathering will be a yearly affair..

Tremors

Ok, this is like old news as it happened 17 hours ago..

The time was around 4.30 - 5.00 am when i feel that i was swaying side by side.. i thought what happened when i saw my laptop wire and my great-grandfather photo were swaying side by side also..

EARTHQUAKE!! TREMORS!!

I just sit down there and feel the effects while my family were in their dreamland.. not a very good experience to sit down and not doing anything.. *facepalm*

Incompetent or inexperienced

I feel very troubled upon reading this article where 2 young men died in an accident on Tuesday.

here is the link, another one

I know about how young people rejoice about when they finally got their driver license. They can finally be on the wheels and will plead with their parents to lend the cars to drive. But without supervision?

My next questions will be: How competent you are? And how sure you are that you will get the same road conditions, same kind drivers that allows you to change lanes?

And the answers to these questions are: there are alot more experienced drivers on the road, like taxi drivers, knowing Singapore routes inside out. A newbie driver that put a probation sign the car to alert other drivers to be careful. But, do you think the drivers will care in the first place? They will purposely make your driving more difficult. A wrong judgment in seeing the road condition will results in accidents and pin all the responsibility to the newbie driver.

Report mentioned that the driver only got his license last month. And of all roads, they have to try this road. Bad move. Now he have to live all his life with guilt and police are charging him with causing death with negligence.

Im seriously doubting the statements that the two survivors have given in the newspaper report. If cruising at a normal speed, say 50km/h, the accident would not have happened. Guess the driver never heed the warning in the first place.

To all newbie drivers, congrats that you have pass and got a driving license. But, if you insist on going for a ride, i would suggest you keep your ego aside and practice and hone your driving skills with someone fit to correct you, like your parents or uncle. You got 1 year to gain invaluable experience. After the 1 year probation, ask your parents or uncle to assess whether you are deem fit to drive alone without their supervision. If yes, then by all means invite your friends for a ride. I hope the accident is a good example.
